FAQ
Why do I need a font license?
All fonts are subject to the copyright of the creator. Licensing fonts may sound complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty self-explanatory. When you purchase a font license you can use the font as described in your license agreement. Take a look at our license overview here. If you have any question regarding licensing, make sure to read this FAQ or ask us via hello@sgtype.com.
Which license do I need?
If you are wondering which license fits your needs the best, we have provided an overview page that explains the different license options available. You can find the license overview page here.
Can I use the font for commercial projects?
Yes! All licenses available on sgtype.com are commercial. When you purchase a Desktop License, for example, you can install the font on one (1) computer/user, but the number of commercial projects or products is not limited. For more information about licensing see our license overview here.
Can I use the font in a logo?
Yes, you can use the font for your company logo or a client's company logo, provided you have purchased the Desktop License and the company does not exceed an annual gross revenue of 1 million. Please contact us for an Extended Logo License, if the company does exceed an annual gross revenue of 1 million. Tip: When you create a logo for a client, you may not share the font files with your client. You may provide rasterized or vectorized versions and files. In case the client wants to install the font on his computer or own the font files, he can always purchase a Desktop License (or any other type of license). Just refer them to our website or to one of our official retailers.
I want to use the font for a client project, does the client need a license as well?

As long as you do not share the font files, the client does not need an additional license. Tip: In case the client wants to install the font on his computer or own the font files, he can always purchase a Desktop License (or any other type of license). Just refer them to our website or to one of our official retailers.
How do I access alternate characters and glyphs?
